Digital Battery Charger 24V 15A SMPS — 6-Step Knob, Normal/Fast Switch, Digital Ammeter
Where the 24V 15A digital charger fits
Truck, tipper and bus starter banks, forklift and stacker traction batteries, DG set starter banks, telecom and UPS rooms, and 24V solar storage — anywhere a 24V lead-acid bank needs an automatic charge with an honest readout.
Using the six-step knob — 30-second guide
What is a 24V 15A digital battery charger used for?
Trucks, tippers & buses
24V starter banks built from two 12V batteries in series, usually 100–150Ah. The digital display shows the taper as an exact figure — not a needle you have to interpret.
Forklifts & stackers
Warehouse traction batteries that need a controlled charge with a verifiable readout. For float charging between shifts, the 24V 10A FCBC is the better tool.
DG sets, AMF & fire panels
Generator starter banks that sit idle for weeks and must crank first time, every time. Long-idle banks sulfate and stratify — Fast mode breaks through sulfation and re-mixes the electrolyte.
Telecom cabinets & UPS rooms
Controlled top-ups for 24V backup banks, with a precise current reading you can log on every service visit.
24V solar storage
Mains backup recharge for off-grid banks after low-sun days — turn the knob down a step to match smaller battery sets.
Banks above 200Ah
Larger banks need more current. Step up to the 24V 20A FCBC or the 24V 30 Amp digital charger.
Normal vs Fast charging — when to use which
Switch left Normal mode
- For VRLA batteries — SMF, AGM and GEL
- For regular maintenance charging of any healthy bank
- The gentle, controlled charge most batteries accept readily
Switch right Fast mode
- For weak, sulfated or deeply discharged batteries that won’t accept a normal charge
- Pushes a stronger current to break through sulfation and wake the bank
- On flooded batteries it stirs the electrolyte, preventing acid stratification
Why Fast mode matters on flooded batteries: sulfuric acid is heavier than water. In a battery that sits discharged, the acid sinks to the bottom and the weaker water layer stays on top — acid stratification. The plates at the bottom suffer while the battery reads as if it can’t take a charge. Fast mode’s vigorous current gasses and mixes the electrolyte so acid and water combine evenly again. For batteries too sulfated even for Fast mode, Samco Battery builds a dedicated regeneration & desulfation charger.
Digital ammeter vs analog needle — which 24V charger suits you?
This charger Digital 15A
- Exact ampere readout — watch the taper to the decimal
- Six steps from Minimum to Maximum — the charger matches the current to the battery
- Ideal when charge quality and service logging matter
Alternative Analog 10A
- Fixed rugged output — fewer controls to misuse
- Lower price (₹3,507) for straightforward top-ups
- Preferred by some depots for rough everyday handling — see the 24V 10A analog charger

Knob guidance: turn further towards Maximum for larger banks and towards Minimum for smaller ones — the battery manufacturer’s specified charging current always takes priority over any guideline. GEL batteries: GEL needs a lower charging voltage than flooded or AGM cells, so the charger is factory-configured for GEL before dispatch — tell us it’s a GEL battery when you order; it is not a front-panel setting. Charge in a ventilated space and check the battery periodically while connected.

Alternatives to the 24V 15A digital charger
Digital battery charger — frequently asked questions
QWhat is the price of a 24V 15A digital battery charger in India?
The Samco Battery SB-24-15DG costs ₹5,169 with GST included, so nothing is added at checkout. Shipping is free to 19,000+ pincodes across India, and dealer or wholesale pricing is available for battery shops, workshops and fleet operators.
QWhich batteries can I charge with it?
Any compatible 24V lead-acid bank — tubular, flat plate, SMF, VRLA and AGM, plus GEL with GEL-specific charging-voltage configuration — kept within the battery maker’s charging specifications. It is a 24V charger and is not intended for a single 12V battery.
QCan I use it on two 12V batteries in series?
Yes, where the two form a 24V bank of matched type, capacity and condition. Charging mismatched or unequally aged batteries in series is not recommended, and 12V batteries wired in parallel need a 12V charger instead.
QHow do I use the six-step knob?
There are no amp markings — turn further towards Maximum for larger banks and towards Minimum for smaller ones. The charger regulates the current itself, and the digital ammeter shows live what the battery is drawing; the battery manufacturer’s specified charging current always takes priority.
QWhat is the difference between Normal and Fast charging?
Flip the rocker switch — left for Normal, right for Fast. Use Normal for VRLA (SMF, AGM, GEL) batteries and everyday charging of healthy banks. Use Fast when a battery is weak, sulfated or deeply discharged and barely takes current on Normal — Fast pushes a stronger current to recover it.
QWhy does Fast mode help flooded batteries?
In a discharged flooded battery, heavy sulfuric acid settles at the bottom while lighter water stays on top — acid stratification — so the plates charge unevenly. Fast mode’s vigorous current gasses and stirs the electrolyte until acid and water mix evenly again.
QWhich battery sizes does the 24V 15A digital charger suit?
Roughly 40Ah to 200Ah across the dial, with the best fit at 100Ah to 150Ah run with the knob towards Maximum.
QDoes it have a Float or maintenance mode?
No. The charger auto-tapers as the bank fills but has no dedicated Float mode, so disconnect it once the battery is charged. Normal mode ‘maintenance charging’ means recharging between uses, not leaving the charger connected unattended. For standby banks that stay connected, choose a Float Cum Boost model such as the 24V 10A FCBC or the 24V 20A FCBC.
QHow long does a charge take?
It depends on how many amp-hours need replacing and what the battery accepts — the charger regulates the current, so the meter’s live reading is your guide. As a rough figure, divide the amp-hours to replace by the meter reading, then allow extra for the taper as the bank fills. A deeply discharged battery on Fast mode starts higher and recovers sooner. Actual time varies with battery condition, temperature and state of charge.
QDoes it work with GEL, AGM and sealed batteries?
Tubular, flat plate, SMF, VRLA and AGM types are supported directly. GEL needs the charger factory-configured for the lower GEL charging voltage before dispatch — tell us at the time of order; it is not a front-panel setting. Not for lithium-ion or LiFePO4 batteries.
QWill it charge a 12V battery or a 36V or 48V bank?
No — output is 24V only. A single 12V battery needs a 12V charger, and 36V or 48V banks are outside this range. For a bench handling both, the dual-voltage 12V/24V range detects the connected voltage automatically.
QWhy choose the digital model over the analog one?
Choose digital when you want charging current as an exact live figure you can log on every service visit. The 24V 10A analog charger is fixed-output and more rugged, which some depots prefer.
QIs an SMPS charger better than a transformer (iron) charger?
SMPS chargers are lighter, more energy-efficient and hold their output steadier as mains voltage moves, giving tighter, more controlled charging. Copper-transformer chargers are heavier but extremely rugged — Samco Battery still builds the analog model for depots that prefer them.
QIs shipping free, is GST included, and how can I pay?
Yes — shipping is free to 19,000+ pincodes across India and the listed price already includes GST with a proper invoice. We accept Cash on Delivery, UPI and bank transfer. Orders dispatch from Delhi in 1–2 working days and typically arrive in 3–7 working days.
