Quick answer
What is a forklift battery charger?
A forklift battery charger is the unit that recharges the traction battery pack of an electric forklift, pallet truck, pallet jack, pallet stacker or other warehouse material-handling vehicle. The correct charger depends on the battery system installed in the vehicle — battery-pack nominal voltage, capacity, chemistry, charging current, connector and the manufacturer's charging requirements must all be checked before ordering. Choose a charger designed for your battery pack's nominal voltage, chemistry and charging requirements; the charger's actual charging voltage must follow the battery manufacturer's specifications. Samco Battery offers replacement and compatible forklift battery chargers, with details reviewed against your machine's specifications before dispatch from Delhi.
Equipment applications — what forklifts and trucks these chargers suit
Electric material-handling equipment is used wherever goods must be lifted, moved or stacked in confined aisles. The vehicles vary in capacity and battery configuration, and Samco Battery supplies chargers matched to each category below.
Electric forklifts
Counterbalance and reach forklifts for loading docks, racking and pallet movement. Typically 48V, sometimes 80V on heavy units.
Electric pallet trucks
Powered pallet movers for low-level horizontal transport across warehouse floors. Often 24V packs.
Electric pallet jacks
Walk-behind powered jacks for pallet lifting and short-distance movement. Typically 24V packs.
Electric pallet stackers
Walk-behind or ride-on stackers for racking and short lifts. 24V packs common; 48V on heavier units.
Forklift charger voltage options
Industrial traction equipment may use 24V, 36V, 48V or higher-voltage battery systems. Availability of a suitable Samco Battery charger must be confirmed for the particular battery and equipment. Choose a charger designed for your battery pack's nominal voltage; the charger's actual charging voltage must follow the battery manufacturer's specifications.
| Pack voltage | Typical equipment | Illustrative capacity range | Battery chemistry (general reference) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24V | Pallet trucks, pallet jacks, small stackers | 200–500Ah | Flooded LA · AGM · GEL · LiFePO4 |
| 36V | Mid-size pallet stackers, light forklifts | 300–600Ah | Flooded LA · AGM · GEL · LiFePO4 |
| 48V | Counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers | 400–1000Ah | Flooded LA · AGM · GEL · LiFePO4 |
| 80V | Heavy-duty forklifts and industrial tractors | 600–1500Ah | Flooded LA · LiFePO4 |
These are illustrative ranges, not guaranteed compatibility specifications. Voltage and current ratings alone are not sufficient to establish compatibility — the battery chemistry, charging profile and connector must also be confirmed against your specific machine. Send us your machine details on WhatsApp and we will review whether a suitable replacement is available.
Where forklift chargers are used
Electric forklifts and material-handling vehicles are deployed wherever goods must be moved, lifted or stacked. Each environment puts different demands on the battery and charger — shift length, opportunity-charge windows and ambient temperature all influence the right charging solution.
Factories & manufacturing
Line-side material supply, finished-goods handling and pallet movement between stations. Steel yards and heavy-engineering shops use 48V and 80V traction equipment.
Warehouses & distribution centres
Rack filling, order picking and trailer loading. Multi-shift operations often need fast-charge or spare-pack rotation.
Logistics centres
Cross-dock and parcel-sort operations where vehicle uptime is critical across the dispatch window.
Retail & wholesale
Back-of-store warehouses and wholesale cash-and-carry yards where pallet movement is continuous.
Pharma & cold chain
Cold-store forklifts where battery performance and charging reliability are critical at low temperatures.
Material-handling brands we supply chargers for

Why choose Samco Battery for forklift chargers
Made in Delhi
Chargers designed and built in our Delhi facility under the supervision of Arender Siali, CECRI-trained electrochemist. Not a rebranded import.
Specification-matched
Every charger is reviewed against your machine's pack voltage, capacity and chemistry — 24V, 36V, 48V or 80V. No guesswork, no "close enough".
Chemistry-aware charging
Separate consideration for flooded lead-acid, AGM, GEL and lithium LiFePO4 traction batteries. Charging suitability is confirmed against your battery manufacturer's specification.

Forklift battery charger — FAQs
Which voltage charger does my forklift need?
Choose a charger designed for your battery pack's nominal voltage — 24V, 36V, 48V or 80V. Read the voltage off the battery label, not the charger label. The charger's actual charging voltage must follow the battery manufacturer's specifications. Most electric pallet trucks and jacks run on 24V packs; mid-size stackers and light forklifts commonly use 36V; counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks use 48V; heavy-duty forklifts use 80V. If you cannot locate the voltage, send us a photograph of the battery label on WhatsApp.
Can I use any 48V charger for my forklift battery?
No. A 48V charger must also match the battery chemistry, charging profile, required current and connector. Charging suitability depends on the charger's voltage limits and charging profile, not just the nominal 48V rating. A charger designed for one chemistry (flooded lead-acid, AGM, GEL or lithium LiFePO4) should not automatically be used with another. Always follow the battery manufacturer's recommended charging current and profile.
Can a lead-acid forklift charger be used on a lithium traction pack?
No. Lead-acid and lithium batteries have different charging profiles and termination logic. A charger designed for a lead-acid traction battery should not automatically be used with a lithium battery — different chemistries may require different charging profiles and protection systems. Lithium chargers must also match the pack's BMS and cell configuration. If your forklift has been retrofitted with a lithium pack, tell us when you request a quotation.
How do I know which connector my forklift charger needs?
The connector must mate with the charging socket on your forklift. Common types in India include Anderson SB series, three-pin round, two-pin flat, and OEM-specific moulded plugs. Photograph the machine's charging socket and the original charger's plug, send both to us on WhatsApp, and we will match the connector before dispatch. If the original connector is unusual, we can usually supply a pigtail or adapter.
Can Samco Battery supply a replacement charger for Toyota, BT, Linde or Jungheinrich forklifts?
Samco Battery supplies replacement and compatible chargers for machines from most major manufacturers used in India, including Toyota, BT, Linde, Still, Jungheinrich, Hyster, Yale, Godrej and others. These are independent replacement chargers, not genuine OEM parts. Compatibility is confirmed against your specific machine's voltage, chemistry and connector — not every model from every listed brand is supported. We are not affiliated with or authorised by these manufacturers; brand names are referenced for compatibility identification only.
What information should I send when requesting a forklift charger quotation?
Send: (1) machine manufacturer and model, (2) photograph of the machine identification plate, (3) photograph of the battery label showing voltage, Ah and chemistry, (4) photograph of the existing charger's specification label and connector, (5) pack voltage, (6) battery chemistry, (7) approximate battery capacity in Ah, and (8) connector type. Even partial information is usually enough to begin the review.
How long does a forklift battery charger take to charge a traction pack?
Charging time depends on battery capacity (Ah), charger output current (A), battery chemistry, starting state of charge, charging profile and the manufacturer's limits. As a general reference, a 600Ah 48V traction pack charged by a 100A charger takes roughly 8–10 hours from low charge to full. Larger packs take proportionally longer, or can be charged faster with a higher-current charger, subject to the battery manufacturer's limits. Current tapers as the battery approaches full charge. Always follow the battery manufacturer's recommended charging current and profile.
