What “automatic” means here — you set the charging current on the knob and choose Boost or Float yourself. The automatic part: the charger tapers that current as the battery fills and holds it in Float, so it can stay connected between power cuts — provided the float voltage suits your battery type (a 2-minute check with us and your battery maker is worth doing). Want a charger that decides everything and stops on its own? See the fully automatic 12V 6A car battery charger.
Charging current — read this first. Your battery manufacturer’s specified current always wins. The 10%-of-Ah guideline on this page is a starting reference for lead-acid batteries only. Deeply discharged battery? Start at 1–2A and raise it as the voltage recovers. Unsure? WhatsApp us the make, type and Ah rating — we’ll give you the exact knob setting.

02 Why variable

Why buy a variable-current 12V automatic battery charger?

Control

One charger for every 12V battery you own

A 7Ah bike battery at half an amp; a 200Ah tubular inverter bank at ten. Fixed-output chargers force you to keep three units on the shelf — this one knob covers bike to inverter, lead-acid to AGM, 7Ah to 220Ah.

Recovery

Rescues deeply discharged batteries

Some automatic chargers read a flat battery as a dead one and refuse to start. Here you begin at 1–2A and raise the current as terminal voltage recovers — the gentle revival a deeply discharged but serviceable battery needs.

Maintenance

Boost fills. Float holds.

Charge on Boost, then flip to Float and forget it — ideal for DG-set starter batteries and inverter banks that wait weeks between power cuts, ready every single time.

03 Battery match

Which batteries fit this 12V 10A charger?

Battery types, capacities and the current to set on the knob
BatteryCapacityTypical knob setting
Bike & scooter7Ah – 14Ah0.5A – 1A
Car, SUV & jeep35Ah – 100Ah4A – 10A
Tractor & truck70Ah – 150Ah7A – 10A
Inverter & tubular100Ah – 220Ah10A
DG set, UPS & solar26Ah – 200Ah3A – 10A, or Float

Settings above are a starting reference at roughly 10% of rated capacity. The charging current your battery manufacturer specifies always takes priority — WhatsApp us your battery details and we’ll confirm the setting.

04 In use

How to charge a 12V battery — 3 simple steps

1. Connect, then set the knob

Red clamp to positive (+), black to negative (–). Set the current to the figure your battery maker specifies — about 10% of the Ah rating as a starting guide, or 1–2A if the battery is deeply flat.

2. Choose Boost or Float

Boost to actively charge a discharged battery. Float to maintain one already near full or kept in storage between uses.

3. Watch the ammeter fall

The digital ammeter drops as the battery fills. A low, steady current means it’s approaching full charge — confirm against your battery maker’s spec before disconnecting.

05 Applications

What India charges with this 10A variable charger

Inverter

Inverter & home UPS batteries

Tubular and flat-plate inverter banks from 100Ah to 220Ah, charged at 10A and held in Float between power cuts. Need faster recovery? See the 12V 20A FCBC inverter charger.

Automotive

Car, SUV, tractor & truck batteries

Starter batteries from 35Ah to 150Ah with the knob set to roughly a tenth of the Ah rating. Want zero settings at all? The 12V 6A fully automatic car charger is the simpler buy.

Standby

DG sets, AMF panels & solar banks

Generator starter batteries and 12V solar storage that sit idle for weeks. Float holds them ready; the 160–280V input copes with generator power and weak rural supply.

Small cells

Bike, scooter & CCTV batteries

Down to about 7Ah with the knob at half an amp — the low end most fixed-output chargers simply cannot reach. For a dedicated small unit, see the 12V 3A bike battery charger.

Workshop

Garages & battery shops

One bench unit spanning 7Ah to 220Ah — the reason it replaces two or three fixed chargers. For fixed-output simplicity, see the 12V 10A industrial charger.

Bigger banks

Above 220Ah, or 24V systems

Larger 12V banks want the 12V 30 Amp charger. If your bench also sees 24V, the dual-voltage 12V/24V range detects the connected voltage automatically.

09 Questions

12V automatic battery charger — India’s top questions

What does the Boost / Float switch do?

Boost applies a higher voltage for actively charging a discharged battery; Float applies a lower maintenance voltage that keeps an already-charged battery topped up without overcharging. You select the mode yourself with the front-panel switch — which is exactly what makes this charger ideal for inverter and DG-set batteries left connected for long periods.

How do I set the current knob for my battery?

A widely used starting guideline for lead-acid batteries is about 10% of the rated Ah capacity: roughly 10A for a 100Ah battery, 5A for 50Ah and 1A for a 10Ah motorcycle battery. Always follow the charging current your battery manufacturer specifies, and start at 1–2A on a deeply discharged battery before raising it.

Can it start charging a deeply discharged battery?

Often, yes — if the battery is still serviceable. Some automatic chargers read a deeply discharged cell as a bad battery and refuse to begin. Because you set the current manually here, you can start at 1–2A and increase as terminal voltage recovers. A battery with a shorted cell, severe sulphation or physical damage may not accept charge at all, and no charger can repair that.

Can I charge an Exide, Amaron or Luminous battery with it?

Yes. This charger works with every brand of 12V lead-acid battery — Exide, Amaron, Luminous, Okaya, SF Sonic, Tata Green, Base and others — whether flat plate, tubular, SMF, VRLA or AGM, from about 7Ah to 220Ah with the current set to the manufacturer’s specification. GEL batteries often need a lower charging voltage, so check that figure with us first. It is not compatible with lithium-ion or LiFePO₄ batteries.

What is the price of a 12 volt 10 amp battery charger in India?

The Samco SB-12-10DG costs ₹3,234 all-inclusive — GST invoice, free shipping to 19,000+ pincodes, and COD or UPI payment. Because you buy factory-direct from the Delhi manufacturer, there’s no importer or reseller margin built in, and dealer pricing starts at just five units.

Where does Samco ship, and how fast?

Anywhere in India — free, to 19,000+ pincodes in 3–7 working days. Orders dispatch from 21 Gokhale Market, near Kashmere Gate Metro Station, Delhi 110054, usually within 24 hours. Order by calling or messaging WhatsApp on 99539 35912.

Do you deliver to Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad or Faridabad?

Yes — delivery across Delhi NCR takes 2–4 working days, and often just next-day within Delhi city. Prefer to collect it yourself? Same-day pickup is available at our Gokhale Market counter, Monday to Saturday, 11 AM – 5 PM, a short walk from Kashmere Gate Metro Station.

Is Cash on Delivery (COD) or UPI available?

Both. Pay cash on delivery where your pincode is COD-serviceable, or prepay instantly by UPI, bank transfer or card over a call — whichever you’re comfortable with. Every order ships with a proper GST invoice.

Can I leave the charger connected long term?

On Float, yes — with the lead-acid types this charger is built for. Boost actively charges while the current tapers; Float then holds the battery at a maintenance level, ready for the next power cut. GEL and some AGM types hold at a lower voltage than flooded cells, so confirm the float voltage with Samco and your battery maker before leaving one connected long term. Never connect a lithium-ion or LiFePO₄ battery to this charger.

How long does it take to charge a battery?

Divide the amp-hours you need to replace by the current you’ve set, then allow extra time for the tapering final stage. A half-discharged 100Ah battery needs about 50Ah, so at 10A that’s roughly six hours in practice. See the charging-time table above for common battery sizes.

What warranty and returns apply?

Six months against manufacturing defects, serviced directly at our Delhi works — plus a 3-day return window on unopened goods in original packaging, with return shipping paid by the customer. Full terms are on the warranty and returns page.

Do you offer dealer or bulk pricing?

Yes. Dealer and wholesale rates are available for battery shops, workshops, fleet operators and resellers, starting at five units. Send your quantity on WhatsApp or call 99539 35912 for a trade quote the same day.
